Quora Traffic Takeover

I don’t need more website traffic … said anyone EVER!

Quora is a little known secret traffic source that has the power to drive serious visitors to your websites if used correctly.

Check out my other post on how to set up your Quora profile for maximum exposure here.

Now it’s time to start cranking out some traffic from it.

Let’s take a loot at some statistics from Quora.

As you can see I’ve only started using this source since April and received 17 thousand views.

If you answer popular questions you can get a lot of views which will eventually turn into website visitors.

Time to take action!

The first thing you want to do is start to follow topics that are related to your niche.

From the Quora homepage use the search bar to enter keywords.  As you enter your search terms notice the “Topic” in the drop down.

Click on the Topic and you will be taken to the topic page.  Click the follow button at the top of the page.

You want to follow topics that have thousands of followers.  This way when you post your answer, you will get a lot of views.

Members of the topic group will be notified that there is a new answer to the question.

Really good questions will get thousands of views.

By creating really good answers you can generate more free targeted website traffic.

When you provide good value, Quora members will click on your profile leading to your website.

How Do I Create A Good Answer?

When you come a cross a great question that you want to answer you will want to create a blog post first.

Write a compelling blog post that will completely answer the communities question.

Then, go back to Quora and post an answer without giving away the secret sauce.

Put together a few key points from your post that will help the community.

Be sure to add a few images as answers with images seem to get more views.

Then close off your answer with something like:

“I have a complete tutorial on my blog about doing this.  If you’s like to take a look at that or have any other questions that I haven’t answered in the post I’d be more than happy to help you out.”

Your first action should always be to provide value to the community.

DO NOT always put your link in the answer.  Quora doesn’t like that, but you can drop it in when the time is right.

You will get clicks through to your website as people visit your profile to learn more about you.

Now, make sure to repurpose that blog post as many ways as you can.  Post to Facebook, Twitter, Make a video, etc.

Getting Upvotes On Your Answers

Upvotes are the same as “Likes” on other platforms.

The more Upvotes your answer gets, pushes it to the top of the page.

The better your answer, the more Upvotes you will get.  The more your links will be seen by the community.

A little “Greyhat” method to get Upvotes, is to join exchange groups.

These groups can be found mainly on Facebook.

Save For Later

As you come across good questions you want to answer.  You can save these to your “Answer Later” box.

Once you have researched and created your blog post.  You can come back and post your answer.

As you start answering more questions you will get “Answer Requests” from users sent to you for your feedback.

Be A Most Viewed Writer

You should make a goal to become a most viewed writer.

These writers are viewed as an authority in the community and by default, get more website traffic if they have a profile leading to their website.

Take a look inside your niche topics and you will find the most viewed writers.

Take a look at all the topics you follow.  Find topics where the top writers have lower view counts.

By having a low view count, you can break into the top 10 as you write awesome engaging answers.

You must continue to post to Quora consistently to get into the most viewed writes and stay there.

Once you make it here, you will be the authority voice and people will come to you for answers.

How Do You Get Views

Once you post your new answer to Quora you want to announce it to your following.

Email your list if you have one.

Post to Facebook that you have just answered a question on Quora.

Tweet it our on Twitter.  This has worked really well for me.

Can You Outsource This?

Just like everything else it is possible to outsource your Quora marketing strategy.

If you have a virtual assistant you can have them search Quora for soldi questions for you to answer and save them.

They can research the content for your blog post and even write the post.

You can then write your Quora answer in YOUR voice from their content.

Stuff to Remember

  1. One answer will not get you a ton of website traffic.  It takes multiple answers to get real traffic
  2. Each post is like an “AD” for your business.  The more you post, the more website traffic you will get.
  3. Answer more questions WITHOUT your link thank you do with your links.
  4. Include images in your answers.  These tend to get more Upvotes and views.

Facebook retrieves the users profile information including their PRIMARY email address.

It is a requirement that you use https to set up the Facebook application and when setting up your redirect link inside the Viral Traffic Boost plugin.

They have done a great job with connecting to email services via API. 

So it is very easy to connect and they have a good list of providers you can connect to.

This is a hard con for me as I use a self hosted platform for my email campaigns that is not supported. 

So I have to use a free Mailchimp account, export the leads and upload them to my system.

Not a huge deal but not as seamless for me.

Most who use Viral Traffic Boost will likely use the services connected.

Conclusion

Overall I think this is a great tool to build your email list and get more traffic by having users share your pages.

It’s fairly easy to set up even for the less than tech savvy user.

It has all the components of a good tool

Quora is a question-and-answer based site. It’s also very social. 

There is a lot of interaction between the people that ask the questions and the people that respond so there is a lot of opportunity here to get a lot of targeted traffic to your links. 

Quora is a very powerful source for backlinks to your content.

Before we jump into Quora itself, I want to show you what kind of authority and power Quora has .

If we look at the page rank of 77, 559,309 links inside and it has a domain authority of 93.

So it doesn’t get a whole lot better than that.  It’s going to be great for SEO and with the social aspect inside you’re going to get a lot of traffic. 

So let’s jump into Quora and have a look.

As you go through the home screen, you can see there’s questions being asked like what are the simple ways to earn income from blogging and what do you blog about?

You want to give good value and feedback on the questions.

When you provide quality users can Up Vote your answers making it popular.

So let’s go and have a look at our profile

Now to get Quora to really work for you. You need to set up your profile properly. 

Inside my profile I’ve built a good description along with the link to my website.

I’ve also included some keywords that I want to be known for. I’ve also been able to build my credentials in a certain way. 

When people see my responses, they’re also going to be able to see my website in every single post that I do.

I’m going to get more views from that as well.

So let’s have a look at how we edit your profile.

Fist make sure you add a good picture of yourself.  Users want to know who is responding to them.

Now in the description you edit this and put a lot of information in here.

So I was able to type out a nice description. I used some keywords that I want to be known for like marketer, online business.

I was able to put my website here and put my other channels in here so others can connect with me on other sites.

Now in the Credentials section you fill out all the credentials you can.

When you go in here,  you just click on add a credential.  You can put in employment, education, where you live, where you’ve been and Quora Spaces spaces.   And any different languages that you speak.

This is important that you hack this section.

This is the first one that people see.  What I did was just put head honcho at TrevorMcHaffie.com.

But every time I post a response they’re going to be able to see my website. So I have that out of the top. 

That might be something you want to think about and how you word and crafts that so you can maximize your exposure.

In the Knows About section you want to complete and add everything that you know.

You also want to try and find keywords for your topics that are your best target market so you can go through here. 

I put a whole bunch in here but you can add all kinds of stuff on here.  Just go through and look at it. 

You’re going to find more on your feed and that way you’ll have more suggestions on questions that you can answer and drive more traffic to your websites. 

Now as you use Quora more and more, you’re going to start to see topics and come across topics that you know about and start answering questions. 

When you come across those come back to this section on topics that you know and start adding them. 

You want to add as many as you can in here.

But this is a great traffic source. I’m already getting traction with it.

Today I’m getting back to basics and resetting my roots in the fundamentals of building my email list.  Your email subscribers are the foundation of your affiliate and internet marketing business.

So I wrote down five of my strategies that I will be using to re-engaging and growing my followers.

Secret #1 – The Lead Magnet

Your job as an email marketer is to put targeted leads on your email list and that can be very tough and very frustrating when you begin.  By having a HIGH VALUE and EASILY DIGESTED lead magnet can make it 10 times easier to subscriber if they actually want to be on your email list and learn from you.

Giving them something deserving to trade their email for your ability to send them emails means providing something worthy for them to interact with you.

The hard part is being able to build a relationship with them right from the moment they subscriber to your email list.

You can creating things like, reports, checklists, mind maps which are great and easily consumable.  For the subscriber these are easy to go through and won’t take much of their time to get started with your content if it’s well done.

By creating some more in-depth training like videos and adding a link to your content you are giving them a chance to get to know more about you and how you can truly help them.

Secret #2 – The Two Step!

The two step optin method has been tested and proven to convert much higher than a one step optin.

When a potential subscriber click on the first button to bring up the optin form this creates what is called a micro commitment.  This small action immediately starts to build a culture with your subscriber.  You are teaching them to click on your content, including your soon to be coming affiliate links.

You know those boxes that pop up when your on a page or trying to leave a site?

This are called light boxes.  These are very effective and can get a lot of people on your list.  These pop ups are engaging and almost IMPOSSIBLE to ignore.

Be UNIGNORABLE in your business.

You want to get these in front of everyone as much as possible until they subscribe.  Don’t worry about feeling your are annoying… You are… but it’s proven these work 😉

Studies have shown that people need to be exposed to things multiple times before they take action.  The more they see something.  The more they take action.

You can even use light boxes to get people to optin to finish reading a blog post.  Make them optin to get the complete content.  This is ninja strategy.

Secret #5 – Launch Your Own Product

This by far is my favourite way to build my email list.  It is the fastest way to build a list of targeted and responsive buyers.

This method is more labor intensive and there is definitely a learning curve to know how to launch a product successfully.  But once you have the process down you can create products quickly and the get the highest quality leads.

You need to put together great content worthy of someone to pay money for it.  And you need to do it on a consistent basis.

So that’s the top 5 secrets I will be using to build my list and that is where we are going to leave it for now.
